You must live somewhere like Phoenix. The parks in my area are clean but yeah, when it's 100 degrees by 9am there's no way in hell I am going to go outside to "touch grass". Besides, grass is itchy and not the the least but relaxing to me. I like being outside when it is cooler, and the ball of glowing death in the sky is gone, but even then I am not out "touching grass".
And yes, it's become a dismissive phrase overall but to be fair, the whole concept of touching grass has become a marketing term for a whole slew of "holistic self care" products like fake grass mats for you to walk on inside. (sigh)
Everything always becomes a marketing scheme.
