LOL.. okay. First off, the book you read, I assume is Honor Bound, and literally only the first chapter is super action oriented so I am not quite sure what you're referring to. Second, the only other fiction story I wrote on here was purposely done that way to play with different ways of writing. Third. Perhaps you should ask if people want critique before launching into a full on critique session. Fourth, none of what you said actually addresses my point that serialization genres seem very heavy into romance and litrpg and quite often those readers do not care about editing and finished product. They want constant content and interaction with the writer.
Have you ever looked on any webnovel sites? Been to Royal Road? Wattpad? Most of those stories are literally written 2500 words a day, posted and then moved on. One fun thing with Medium is using it as a place to experiment.
Final note, my novel does have a lot of action in it, it also has a whole crap ton of character growth etc. I use the action in the first chapter to pull people in but it works very well in various genres. Trust me, there's plenty of internal dialogue and such in it as it goes on.
