Lol I love how everyone expects dating to somehow be easy. The reason it was "easy" back in the day is because being single for life was considered weird or a sign that you were somehow defective, especially for women, so people settled for whoever they were told to settle for, or that they got pregnant on accident so they could "fit in" and be normal. Guess what, that societal expectation is no longer there and people aren't feeling forced into settling down. The downside is now that all the silent bitter relationships that people just put up with for decades don't last now. For example you stating "oh the requests irritate me and oh no an argument. Guess this is isn't it." Then you bail or they do. You know why people back then didn't? Because divorce was frowned on so they either sucked it up and stayed together and figured it out or cheated on each other and ignored each other.

There is not one relationship on the planet that doesn't have fights or where you're not required to make compromises. If you don't want to do that, then don't date or at least admit you don't want to do the hard work and just want to pretend to want to have a life long relationship. Sounds like you want a pet, not a life partner.
