I just wrote an article about an AI generated rapper with 10 million TikTok followers who got signed to a label, and in that I went off on a rant about this very same trend. It disgusts the shit out of me and we will see more and more of this, not to mention a lot of these TikToker books are ghostwritten, some without any actual input from the TikToker. So now a talented is author is not just losing out on contracts with trad pub but they're helping feed the monster that is TikTok writers and they're stuck because they need to make money but no trad publisher will sign them as they have no followers since they're writing content for all these TikTokers.

It's a horrendous cycle of abuse heaped on creatives.

Side note...I am also ridiculously sick of romance tropes and people marketing strictly to them, GAAAAAHH!! Anyway, that's another rant.
