Agreed, but the music industry, hell all creative industries have historically failed to hire or work with black/poc artists, or steal their work and never credit them. AI could easily reverse any gains they've made. I know we're on the same side overall here but the fact that these groups who are pressing for more representation seem to be missing the overall implications are mind blowing. Let's say that the creators of this AI rapper had been black and they had handled it in a more appropriate way and got signed. They're still taking money away from black artists, so really aren't helping to grow young artists in their own communities. It seems like there are record labels looking specifically for AI and digital "artists", one or two tech groups could churn out hundreds of different styles and avatars and then what happens? Music becomes even more monopolized, because that's what we need. Not.
